This commitment makes it one size Intel corporate purchaser of green energy in the United States, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The plan calls on Intel to buy energy from renewable sources certificates, which will consist of a variety of sources such as wind, solar, small hydro-electric and biomass.

Intel has also successfully implemented energy saving strategies in their own premises and in the past 7 years, the company invests in more than 250 projects in the field of energy conservation resulting from savings in excess of 500 million kilowatt hours.

Green technology companies, CNet News blogger Michael Kanellos said in the posting Tuesday, could face an uphill battle getting customers excited about their products, because these products are simply not” sexy “enough.

Kanellos stressed that sell solar and wind energy equipment… not exactly the most exciting things around. There are new types of water filters, or biomass for home heating.

In other words, Kanellos suggested that a majority of firms green “you have to sell the goods, but not the desire.”

This may be true, but it can not then. Some green technologies are exciting, at least for those of us who drool over Smart phones and other gadgets. Such technologies, such as more efficient batteries, displays, which are thinner than ever, and software, which allows the pursuit of human life, such as videoconferencing, it can also be “goods” in a sense, but they are also potentially of great importance for the first actors adopters and power users.

So here is a question for you, Dear Reader: what is a “sexy” green technology to you? What to take on green technologies, so that I can say, “Cool!”? Let us know. Because there is certainly more than the green technologies of solar panels.

Coal-fired power certainly does not help in the fight against global warming, may be used, unless the “clean coal technology” as the power plant operates in Nakaso, Japan. The station, the Financial Times reports in Japan, is managed by a consortium of nine companies and the power is championed by the Ministry of Commerce as a way to prove that the technology can reduce pollution.

More specifically, the ministry believes that by using “clean coal” technology can be comparable to the results of CO2 emissions diesel-fired plant.

“To combat climate change, what is needed is important that the technology leads to real reductions,” Financial Times “quoted a report Takashi Mogi, assistant director at the Ministry of environmental protection office to say. Mogi admitted, however, that such technologies can are not yet available: “It is not very easy to achieve, we will believe that without the help of innovative technology, which does not yet exist.”

The report indicated that the Financial Times as great as clean coal technology, Japan may be using this as a way of removing the pressure for a more lasting change. Japan is no reason, the report concluded pitch technology as the answer: the country has a lot of technology.

“Japan is already at the forefront of energy-efficient technologies, even if environmentalists say that has lost some ground in recent years,” Financial Times “.

What do you think technology is the answer to the challenges, Japan, pollution? Or you do not have to look at other kinds of initiatives aimed at the real impact of the changes?
