Green Tech Not Sexy Enough?
Green technology companies, CNet News blogger Michael Kanellos said in the posting Tuesday, could face an uphill battle getting customers excited about their products, because these products are simply not” sexy “enough.
Kanellos stressed that sell solar and wind energy equipment… not exactly the most exciting things around. There are new types of water filters, or biomass for home heating.
In other words, Kanellos suggested that a majority of firms green “you have to sell the goods, but not the desire.”
This may be true, but it can not then. Some green technologies are exciting, at least for those of us who drool over Smart phones and other gadgets. Such technologies, such as more efficient batteries, displays, which are thinner than ever, and software, which allows the pursuit of human life, such as videoconferencing, it can also be “goods” in a sense, but they are also potentially of great importance for the first actors adopters and power users.
So here is a question for you, Dear Reader: what is a “sexy” green technology to you? What to take on green technologies, so that I can say, “Cool!”? Let us know. Because there is certainly more than the green technologies of solar panels.
